Original price was: $30.00.$25.00Current price is: $25.00. Select optionsThis is a Blue Faced Leicester crossed with a California Variegated Mutant or BFL x CVM. It is a white fleece with quite a bit of yolk. It would be very interesting if overdyed. This fleece takes its crimp and non-descript lock structure from the CVM and has the hand of a BFL. We would describe it as soft to medium in fineness, excellent for socks. The locks are 4 to 5-inches in length.

This cross, however, is between two our our favorite medium wools. The result is a 3.5″ to 4″ lock with a medium hand and heavy sproing or snap back. The chocolate brown locks end in blonde tips that are easy to open and process.

While this fleece retains the soft hand and energy of that breed, the Border Leicester imparts some length and easy to open tips. The locks are 3.5 to 4 inches long and are dark brown in color, with a hint of gray throughout and some sun blonde at the tips.

CVM x Cotswold x Wensleydale #723166
$164.00 Add to cartA variegated crossbreed with both wavy and crimpy locks. It has a medium to soft hand and will be next to skin soft for most people. Colors run the gamut from dark to light gray and tan to light brown. This fleece is similar to the fleece we used in our Bliss club for the first quarter of 2024; it is from the same flock but does not contain Lincoln lineage and the crimp is not quite as consistent throughout the fleece. Nonetheless, it is a very nice fleece overall. Sold as a highly skirted whole fleece weighing 1.25 pounds.

With half of the genetics coming from the Merino and a quarter each from the Cormo and Wensleydale we would expect a very soft hand from the fine wools and a more open crimp from the long wool – and that is exactly what we have. The fiber is 4-1/2 inches in length and a medium brown color. We love these fine wools crossed with Wensleydale. This is an excellent hand spinners fleece.
