Wool Cards

These excellent all-purpose cards work well for most breeds of wool. Student sizes for children, sampling and carding on the go. All hand cards are sold as pairs.

Our wool cards are all-purpose cards capable of carding most breeds of wool – we recommend using them for fiber 25 microns or larger and 3” in length or longer. Featuring 72 teeth per inch and an 8” wide back, they are available in curved or flat back, with most spinners preferring the more ergonomic curved back. They are also available in a smaller (student) size with a 5.25” wide back for teaching children, for travel, or anyone with chronic wrist, elbow, or shoulder injuries. For the fiber artist looking for a truly special pair of hand cards, they are available in cherry, walnut, and other specialty woods.

    The smaller version of our most popular style of hand carders feature 72 teeth per inch and curved backs. This tooth spacing is versatile enough to handle most wool breeds and blends. While these are lighter and easier to use and store than their standard size counterparts, they do make smaller rolags since their carding area is one third smaller.
