A white – or maybe more accurately, dirty blonde – Cotswold fleece with 3″ locks and a medium hand. This fleece has more crimp and energy than we typically see in this breed; combine that with the short length (this was shorn mid-year, rather than a full year’s growth) and this fleece from a long wool breed is suitable for a woolen project. Cotswold is a Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em breed and each order of 4 ounces or more will include a passport sticker.

A soft 4.5″ crossbreed in a lightly-variegated coloration we call oatmeal. This is one of our favorite pairs of breeds to see in a crossbreed fleece; it borrows length and sheen from the longwool and color, fineness, and energy from the fine wool.

This Finn fleece is characterized by thin, energized, bright white locks. The stark whiteness of this fleece was actually hard to photograph! It has a few tips with a little bit of yellow cast (yolk) and other that hold some dirt in spite of three extra washes, but that is just part of dealing with this unique breed.

A Finn fleece with thicker, bolder locks than we typically see in this breed. However, the 6″ locks are still energized and soft, as one would expect for Finn. This bright white fleece does have some yellowing (yolk) on the tips which will likely blend into a more creamy than bright white color once processed. As with most of the Finn fleece that we find, the tips do have some trapped dirt which will fall out easily with a flicker, Lock Pop, or combs.

A lovely Gotland fleece with soft, curly locks measuring five to six inches in length. This fleece sports a variety of light gray and silver hues, and has a medium to soft hand that may be acceptable for next to skin use for those who are not overly sensitive. There is some occasional matting at the cut end of this fleece; that combined with the corkscrew nature of the locks may make it more difficult than average to process but this fleece is definitely worth the little bit of extra effort!

An Icelandic fleece with 4 to 5 inch thel (undercoat) and tog that measures as long as 10 inches. As expected, the thel has a soft hand while the tog is medium to coarse. This fleece is “white” meaning it is mostly white, with a smattering of tan, gray, and black throughout.
