They may have weak tips, may be tender, may have more vegetable matter than we allow, or have some other minor malady that requires additional processing. $95.00Read moreA springy white BFL lamb with lots of energy and curlicue lamb tips. This crimpy fleece measures five to six inches long and is lusciously soft. It is in our Imperfect category because this naughty lamb shook off its coat and has there is a fair amount of vegetable matter in this fleece; the lamb tips also break off during processing, as one would expect. Sold as a half fleece weighing just 1.1 pounds.

The crimpy white locks have high sheen, measure four to five inches in length, and end in telltale curlicue lamb tips. This naughty lamb shook off its coat, and this fleece will require a little extra work to clean the vegetable matter out, which is why it is in our Imperfect category. Sold as a half fleece weighing 1.4 pounds.

This high luster fleece has yolk stain in some spots, a lovely medium to soft hand, and locks measuring around six inches in length. It is in our Imperfect category because it has a root break about one inch from the end; this will result in about a 5″ lock once processed with a Lock Pop or flicker. With a little bit of effort (though not much more than typical) this will yield some really nice fiber. Sold as a half fleece weighing 1.8 pounds.

You can see the effect of the CVM on this fleece, as it sports several hues of gray – sometimes even within the same lock. Unfortunately, this fleece had a mishap in the washing process and is a little felted. It will not make a great fleece for hand spinning, but the curly and wavy locks would be great to felt further. Sold in one pound increments.

This fleece does have some dander and vegetable matter; although both will come out in the fiber prep stage, it will take a little bit of elbow grease which is why this one is in our Imperfect category. Sold as a whole fleece weighing 2.0 pounds.

Imperfect Lincoln #418072

As is sometimes the case with long wools, this one has dirt and vegetable matter that did not come out in the wash, and is lightly felted in spots. It will need some work with a flicker or Lock Pop, but the resulting fleece will be long, mildly lustrous, and have gorgeous depth of color. As an Imperfect fleece, its pricing reflects the additional processing it will take.

This fleece has a decent amount of sheen, is bright white with tan tips, and has a medium hand. It does have some vegetable matter in it, and some spots where the tips are caked in dirt that did not wash out, even with a good soaking. Both the VM and dirt will come out in the fiber prep stage, but will require a little extra elbow grease, which is why this fleece is in our Imperfect category.
