Soft Corriedale lamb fleece with french fry locks measuring four inches in length. This one is lightly variegated between a chocolate brown and grayish brown, and has blonde tips; this will all contribute to a gorgeous depth of color when processed. This is a stunning, luscious fleece.

A fun crossbreed measuring as much as 9″ in length with a medium to soft hand. This fleece has thick, bold locks that are cotted (lightly felted) at the cut ends. In order to be spun, this fleece will require some work with a Lock Pop or combs and there will be a fair amount of waste. However, if used for a felting project – vegan sheep skins come to mind – this fleece is ready to use as is. Pricing on this fleece has been lowered to reflect the assumption of loss when processing for spinning.

As the name implies, this is a long wool fleece, but this producer shears twice annually, resulting in the relatively shorter length which is more manageable for both the producer and the fiber artist. A Merino crossbreed with a soft hand and open locks measuring around five inches. This fleece is a good example of why we like crossbreeds: it looks and feels like a Merino, but is much longer than a typical Merino fleece. Sold as a half pound weighing 2.0 pounds.

A 5″ long, variegated gray Perendale with a medium to soft hand. The locks are distinct, tapered, and end in tan tips that open quite easily. This is a fun breed to work with on a Lock Pop or flicker, as the locks bloom significantly when opened.

This is our first offering of the Racka breed. It consists of a coarse guard hair that is as long as 11″ and a relatively soft undercoat as long as 5″ in length. This sheep is raised in a wildlife conservancy, so not much care was given to the quality of the fleece; as such it is lightly cotted and some vegetable matter in it. We recommend blending the two coats together, as trying to separate them will likely result in a large amount of waste. This fleece is mostly white and tan, but at time shows some browns and grays.

Charcoal gray Wensleydale with high luster and locks measuring between five and six inches in length. This fleece has a medium to soft hand and will be acceptable for next to skin projects for most people. The distinct locks are curly and occasionally corkscrew, which might make fiber prep a bit of a challenge at times.
