We struggled to get all of the lanolin out of this fleece, and there is still some in the tips of the locks, which is why it is in our Imperfect category. We recommend opening each lock by hand; the fiber may still feel lightly greasy after processing. Sold as a highly skirted fleece weighing 1.1 pounds.

$45.00 Add to cartA silky soft Lincoln lamb fleece in a deliciously dark charcoal color with 5″ long locks. The curly lamb tips are a dark brown and will create an interesting depth of color when this fiber is processed. This pound of fleece (16 ounces) was skirted for having too much vegetable matter, but the underlying fleece will be amazing with a little work with a Lock Pop. Lincoln is a Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em breed; purchase will include a passport sticker for the Livestock Conservancy’s SE2SE Initiative.

The locks snap easily in half, meaning this fleece may be destined for a felt project or a spinning project that requires relatively short (2-2.5″) fleece. Sold in one pound (16 oz.) increments.

$25.00 Add to cartMixed Romney skirtings from multiple fleece. These come from the same flock and are mostly medium to dark gray, with a few patches of brown and black. Most locks measure four to five inches in length. As these are skirtings, there is more vegetable matter here than we allow in Good Clean Fiber, but it can all be removed with a flicker or Lock Pop. There are no tag ends (manure) in this skirtings and like all of our Good Clean Fiber, this has been washed and is free of lanolin. Sold in 1 pound (16 oz.) increments.

$120.00 Read moreA delectable 6″ long Wensleydale sporting every shade of gray that you can imagine. The lock structure is a unique combination of wavy, curly, and corkscrew, which has unfortunately trapped a lot of dirt in this fleece. As such, it is in our Imperfect category as it will require quite a bit of additional processing to separate the soft, gorgeous fibers from the dirt and vegetable matter. Sold as a whole fleece weighing 2.5 pounds.
