  • Fleece for Sale

    Corriedale x Lincoln x CVM x Cotswold #153

    $23.00$76.00 Select options

An interesting 4-way cross, Dark Moorit (brown) in color with lighter tips. Inconsistent in length and crimp, with the length varying from 4 to 6 inches. Feels slightly coarser than Corriedale and would probably make a great pair of socks.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Corriedale x Merino x Wensleydale #140

    $16.00$52.00 Select options

This is a very nice 3-way cross: Corriedale x Merino x Wensleydale. The result is a fairly open lock with fine crimp, a soft hand and 5-inch length. The color is brown and medium gray and this fleece does exhibit some luster. Overall an excellent spinners fleece.

  • Fleece for Sale

  • Fleece for Sale

    CVM #718161

    $298.00 Add to cart

This moorit (brown) CVM fleece is from a wether, or castrated male. We prefer wethers because they don’t go through the stress of the reproductive cycle at any point during the year, meaning all of their energy goes into growing a nice fleece. This fleece has 3.5″ staple length and the soft hand you would expect with a CVM. It does have a light touch of lanolin and you may see a light sheen on your hands when working this fleece, but it is not so much that it will harm your equipment or make it more difficult to process. This is being sold as a whole 2.6 pound fleece and will come with a Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em passport sticker.

  • Fleece for Sale

    CVM x Cotswold x Wensleydale #723166

    $164.00 Add to cart

A variegated crossbreed with both wavy and crimpy locks. It has a medium to soft hand and will be next to skin soft for most people. Colors run the gamut from dark to light gray and tan to light brown. This fleece is similar to the fleece we used in our Bliss club for the first quarter of 2024; it is from the same flock but does not contain Lincoln lineage and the crimp is not quite as consistent throughout the fleece. Nonetheless, it is a very nice fleece overall. Sold as a highly skirted whole fleece weighing 1.25 pounds.

  • Fleece for Sale

    CVM x Wensleydale #2134

    $21.00$126.00 Select options

This fleece exhibits some of the best characteristics of two of our favorite breeds: the variegated color and fineness of the CVM and the soft hand and easy processing of Wensleydale. Fawn brown, 4″ locks; overall, a lovely fleece.

    $23.00$137.00 Select options

A CVM and Wensleydale crossbreed fleece with distinct, french-fry-style 4.5″ locks. We call this color oatmeal, as the influence of the CVM gives the fleece some variegation in its light gray, tan, and brown coloring.

    $199.00 Add to cart

A soft and lustrous crossbreed measuring 4″ in length with wavy, distinct locks in a color we loving call dark oatmeal. Sold as a whole fleece weighing 2.0 pounds

  • Fleece for Sale

    Imperfect BFL #4117

    $48.00 Add to cart

Natural-colored BFL with 4″ staple length weighing in at a heavily-skirted 1.8 pounds. This fleece is tender, but the low vegetable matter content makes this an ideal candidate for adding texture and curls in a felting project, as the tenderness will not be apparent if the fleece is not processed.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Imperfect Huacaya Alpaca #A42252

    $85.00 Add to cart

A silky soft Huacaya Alpaca with a 4″ staple length. This fleece does have some dander which will require a little bit of extra processing and therefore puts it in our Imperfect category. Sold as a whole 3.5 pound fleece.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Imperfect Merino Crossbreed #419112

    $105.00 Add to cart

A 3.75″ long Merino crossbreed with short, tight crimp and incredibly soft hand. Deep black in color with some brown on the tips, we fell in love with this fleece without checking for soundness. Unfortunately, much of the fleece is tender which pushed it into our Imperfect collection. Sold as a complete 3 pound, 10 ounce fleece, this would be a great fleece for a felter or for a spinner looking to make fine wool nepps in an art batt as the tenderness of the fiber will cause it to tear while processing.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Imperfect Romney x Jacob #42065

    $55.00 Add to cart

  • Fleece for Sale

    Merino Crossbreed #22313

    $20.00$121.00 Select options

A chocolate brown Merino Crossbreed measuring 3.5 to 4 inches in length. This fleece has a very soft hand a good sproing, or snapback in the locks. There is some light variegation in the color, with hints of light gray and blonde throughout, though it would be hard to define this fleece as anything other than chocolate brown. As we do not know this fleece’s progeny (other than Merino) and it looks and feels like a Merino, we have listed it as simply a Merino Crossbreed.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Merino x Cormo x Wensleydale #18141

    $32.00$103.00 Select options

This fleece is a cross between Merino, Cormo, and Wensleydale. With half of the genetics coming from the Merino and a quarter each from the Cormo and Wensleydale we would expect a very soft hand from the fine wools and a more open crimp from the long wool – and that is exactly what we have. The fiber is 4-1/2 inches in length and a medium brown color. We love these fine wools crossed with Wensleydale. This is an excellent hand spinners fleece.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Rambouillet #22212

    $19.00$114.00 Select options

Pictures and a description can’t quite do this fleece justice, but we’ll try. Lusciously soft with a variegated tan-gray-cream color, this 3.5″ long Rambouillet has nice crimp and lots of energy.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Romney #2388

    $15.00$84.00 Select options

A 5″ Romney with bold crimp in defined locks. This fleece is too dark to be called brown, and too brown to be called black. Regardless, it has lovely natural color and a softer hand than one would expect for Romney.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Romney x Columbia #233

    $31.00$58.00 Select options

A chocolate and dark brown fleece that is a rather unique crossbreed. The result is 3-4″ long locks that have a soft to medium hand that open and process rather easily. This is a lamb fleece, so the tips are tender in places and will break off in the fiber prep stage.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Santa Cruz Island #2355

    $30.00$52.00 Select options

A highly energized Santa Cruz Island fleece with locks measuring 1.5 to 2 inches in length that snap out to as much as 3 inches. Brown with shades of tan and gray. This is a rare color in a very rare breed, and each order of four ounces or more comes with a passport sticker for the Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em Iniatitive. As this breed is still quite feral, there is more vegetable matter in this fleece than we typically allow in Good Clean Fiber.

  • Fleece for Sale

    Wensleydale #22172

    $24.00$141.00 Select options

Wensleydale is one of our favorite breeds to work with and one of the breeders we have known for a number of years has been experimenting with breeding morrit (brown) Wensleydales. We are just now beginning to see the results of their labors and we are quite impressed. Today we are offering a variegated moorit gray fleece. Locks are four inches in length and have a very high luster. Typical Wensleydale crimp. You will not be disappointed with this one.

Wensleydale is one of our favorite breeds and this fleece is an excellent example of why we like it so much. The 8” locks range from silver to dark gray with about the last inch and a half being tan at the tip. The individual fibers are closer to 12” when straightened out. This fleece has a lot of luster. Wensleydale is the only long wool that is often worn next to the skin. This fleece would be beautiful as a shawl. Sold as a half fleece weighing 1.5 pounds. This is one of the nicest Wensleydales we have seen.

A gorgeous moorit Wensleydale measuring seven inches and longer. Silver-brown to chocolate brown in color, with tan tips and lots of luster. Sold as a whole fleece weighing 3.0 pounds. These long, curly locks do have some dirt trapped in them; don’t be surprised if it gets a little dusty when processing this fleece.
