A variegated light brown and tan fleece from a fun crossbreed. It isn’t very often that you can say Merino added length in a crossbreed, but that’s exactly what happened in this pairing of short, fine breeds. As you would expect, the locks are soft and have plenty of bounce. Overall, this is just a fun fleece and a cross that we don’t see very often!

A fun crossbreed with 5″ locks and a medium hand. The breeding on this fleece was 50% Coopworth and 25% each Merino and Shetland, and this fleece is pretty much what you would expect when its lineage is half long wool and half fine wools.

A stunning fine wool crossbreed with springy locks measuring three inches when relaxed. The color is lightly variegated from tan to light brown; locks are relatively indistinct but easy to sort and process. While it is rare to find two relatively similar breeds crossed with each other, this deliciously soft fleece with bouncy locks is a good example of the two breeds working well together.

A delectably soft chocoalte brown Merino with 3″ locks that is tender throughout. This would be a great fleece for felting or creating soft and lofty texture in an art yarn. An intriguing four breed cross that resulted in a variegated fleece. While the length seems to be fairly uniform at around six inches, the color runs from white to light tan to light gray, while the locks structure runs from distinct and highly energized to amorphous and relaxed. This fleece has a relatively soft handle that will be next to skin soft for most people and will be interesting to process and spin.

A highly energized, creamy white Merino crossbreed fleece. This one could be the picture next to the dictionary entry for “sproing.” Much of this fleece resembles a BFL although it is a Merino crossbreed with a smattering of Cormo, Lincoln, and Wensleydale in its lineage. It measures 5″ when stretched, but relaxes to around 3 inches in length, and has a next to skin soft hand. This fleece has a little bit of dirt in the tips but don’t let that scare you off; it will fall out in the fiber prep stage.

A crossbreed between two long wools and a fine wool, with the result being a 5″ lock with a medium to soft hand that will be suitable for next to skin projects for many people. It is black – or perhaps deep charcoal – with mostly indistinct locks with a wavy crimp.
