A rare 5-way crossbreed in which a purebred Leicester Longwool was bred with a sheep that was equal parts Corriedale, Lincoln, Cotswold, and CVM. The result is a 5″ long staple with a hand that isn’t soft but also isn’t too coarse. This would be a good fleece for a sweater or socks.

Made by our friends at Snyder Spindles, the Destiny 3 is a hybrid variable weight Turkish spindle. It is made of 3D printed plastic arms, hand turned hardwood shafts and steel screws. This is an unusual combination; the rubber like plastic is used for durability, wood for rigidity and feel, and steel for weight. The combination of these materials allows for the mass to be on the outside of the spindle, to increase duration of the spin. This is a complete redesign of what a Turkish spindle could be.

A crossbreed between two long wools and a fine wool, with the result being a 5″ lock with a medium to soft hand that will be suitable for next to skin projects for many people. It is black – or perhaps deep charcoal – with mostly indistinct locks with a wavy crimp.

A 5″ Wensleydale with thin, luxuriously soft locks. This is as black as it gets for this breed; the brown tips will add an interesting depth of color when processed. This fleece does have a band of dirt about half way up the locks, but that will pop out during the fleece prep stage with either a flicker, a Lock Pop, or combs.
