We see a lot of this particular crossbreed, but this fleece is unique in that it looks mostly like a BFL fleece but with tips that are easy to open. The 6″ locks are mostly uniform in structure, and there is some yolk (yellowing) throughout the fleece.

In some places, the locks are thin and almost BFL-like while in other places, they are thick and look like traditional Corriedale locks. This fleece is mostly bright white, but appears to be more of a cremay or off-white in many places, and also has some yolk staining that will also give it a creamy appearance when processed. Lock style and crimp vary throughout. This fleece does have a bit more vegetable matter than we like to see, but it will be removed easily during processing and that is something we have to live with considering the breed is on the Conservation Priority List and is a rare breed. Likewise, there is more than a little yolk stain (yellowing from naturally occurring bacteria) in this otherwise bright white fleece. On the whole, however, this is a great example of the Florida Cracker breed and this particular fleece is one we used in part for our SE2SE club in June of 2025. Each order of 4 ounces or more will include a passport sticker.
