Meet your next pair of naturally colored socks! This Cheviot crossbreed – we don’t know what it is crossed with, just that it is not a purebred – has the soft, crimpy, and lofty characteristics of a Cheviot, but is dark black at the root, fading to a lighter brown at the tips. The pointy tips of these bold locks do seem to be a bit matted and tender; they break off easily in processing which results in a full four inches or longer of nice fiber.
