A fun crossbreed measuring as much as 9″ in length with a medium to soft hand. This fleece has thick, bold locks that are cotted (lightly felted) at the cut ends. In order to be spun, this fleece will require some work with a Lock Pop or combs and there will be a fair amount of waste. However, if used for a felting project – vegan sheep skins come to mind – this fleece is ready to use as is. Pricing on this fleece has been lowered to reflect the assumption of loss when processing for spinning.

An Icelandic fleece with 4 to 5 inch thel (undercoat) and tog that measures as long as 10 inches. As expected, the thel has a soft hand while the tog is medium to coarse. This fleece is “white” meaning it is mostly white, with a smattering of tan, gray, and black throughout.

A variegated black and gray Lincoln fleece measuring seven to nine inches in length. As is sometimes the case with long wools, this one has dirt and vegetable matter that did not come out in the wash, and is lightly felted in spots. It will need some work with a flicker or Lock Pop, but the resulting fleece will be long, mildly lustrous, and have gorgeous depth of color. As an Imperfect fleece, its pricing reflects the additional processing it will take.

This is our first offering of the Racka breed. It consists of a coarse guard hair that is as long as 11″ and a relatively soft undercoat as long as 5″ in length. This sheep is raised in a wildlife conservancy, so not much care was given to the quality of the fleece; as such it is lightly cotted and some vegetable matter in it. We recommend blending the two coats together, as trying to separate them will likely result in a large amount of waste. This fleece is mostly white and tan, but at time shows some browns and grays.

This is a charcoal gray Wensleydale fleece with good sheen and 6 to 8-inch locks. Wensleydale is one of Henry’s favorite breeds and he is especially fond of the gray ones. This fleece has a soft hand for a long wool breed.
