New York Sheep & Wool Festival (Rhinebeck) 2023

This year, we built an extra day in to this trip to do something we don’t normally do – take some time for us!

Inside of the Statue of Liberty is quite a sight. The “crown” of the statue is the uppermost part accessible by the public. This spiral staircase takes you there.

At the top, we took a company-wide photo approximately 250′ above upper New York Bay.

Henry’s grandfather emigrated from Luxembourg through Ellis in the late 19th century and we have both always wanted to visit. This place definitely felt like hallowed ground.

After a whirlwind of activities, it was time to get on over to the fairgrounds. This year, our classroom was actually in a restaurant and bar! We had to move tables and squeeze in, but we made it work. This was our first time teaching at NYS&W, and despite the somewhat strange setting, we had a blast.

Rhinebeck in the Fall is full of color and stereotypical autumn like settings – just like these pictures 😉

Booth set up is always a transformational experience. The first photo below was taken of Hall C, before any vendors had set up. The second, is the exact same spot once our booth was set up. Talk about creating something in the place of nothing.

The barns are always full at NYS&W, and this year was no exception. The first BFL definitely had his serious face on! Unfortunately, I can’t remember if Sheep #2 was a Teeswater or Wensleydale – leave me a comment below if you can which!

2024 New York Sheep & Wool Festival Workshops will be available for registration on July 1. Be sure to book the event homepage and sign up for our newsletter to get all the details once they are available!
